Reply received from GLASS; Surrey 4×4 Response is welcome to join up with GLASS for the sum of £55. This will provide the group with with a one year access to Trailwise2 (TW2) right of way mapping and will demonstrate that as a group we support the legal use of rights of way, being responsible and all that they stand for. Obviously, membership will help support GLASS who try to defend the rights of access etc. They also have some merchandise that they can supply for event days if we wished. The use of TW2 is monitored and simultaneous use of it (for example through shared log in) is heavily discouraged. There are a number of 4×4 response groups who already have membership as they also use it for planning events and for call outs if need be.
For individual access, a personal subscription is recommended at £50 each which gives all the benefits to you including their magazine etc. This obviously supports GLASS more, so this is their preferred route for people to take.
Being a newbie, This was simply a fact finding mission and am not in a position to favour any route or indeed to know whether the membership would be useful to the group, so I will stay quiet and put the ball in the members and commitees hands.
