Colin – only just seen this otherwise I would have chipped in sooner.

I’ve always been an advocate of BFGoodrich. The Defenders & Shoguns we’ve had as a family have always been shod with them, usually ATs but my 110 has a set of KM2s on (will be at the meeting on Tuesday with it if you want to take a look). In a 110 I’ve not noticed them handling any different on the road but then again I don’t tend to push it as much. Standing water ability did improve going from ATs simply because there’s taller tread.

I’m not sure what this set is on (can’t remember when I fitted them in terms of mileage) but I know we have not had a set of ATs do less than 65k miles. That particular set that did 65k was what we put on it, they were already worn when we got the vehicle.

Dare I say it but since fitting the KM2s to the 110 I’ve not got stuck yet, my ability has probably improved a bit but places where I would have lost traction with the ATs I’ve sailed through with the KM2s.

Although having said that the new KO2s look like a decent pattern and if they last as long as the original KOs then well worth the money. Yes they’re (last time I bought some) were about £130-£140 a corner but when they’re doing 65k+ it works out surprisingly cheap. Certainly compared to the tyres I’ve had on the Range Rover 😥

Might be worth speaking to Andy Sargent @ AJS tyres? I know for the RR he’s been on-par with Narbeth Tyres (near my parents) who I’ve yet to find anyone cheaper. I have found cheaper online but then you’ve got to factor in fitting them.
