I had a recce of the site this morning, and in fact we can have the same area as before, the only minor inconvenience being that we have to share it with a Tallboy bomb. We therefore lose three spaces, and so we now have to limit our numbers to 12 vehicles.
I suggest the layout as below:

We will no longer record times and try and award prizes, as there is so much variation in ability. So this time each entrant simply pulls the vehicle in one direction, then the next entrant pulls it back, and so on. (We know that one way is easier than the other, but that doesn’t matter if there is no competition).
The best vehicle for ‘Piggy in the Middle’ is a manual with winch and synthetic winch rope which can go round the snatch blocks.
Each entrant should be given a ‘I pulled a Land Rover’ A5 certificate, but we need someone to make these up and have them printed off. As usual we ask for a donation of £2.00 per entry
So we need:
Two tirfors – Andrew & Glyn & Ian
Two snatch blocks – Neil & ??
Several short straps and associated shackles (I think we all have some of these)
Timbers to limit the winched vehicle’s movement – Do you have these, Dee?
Warning tape (is that in the PR boxes?)
Gazebo with whatever PR material we have – where is it?.
Question: what about balloons this year?
Twelve vehicles, i.e.
1. Andrew Pepper – Disco 4
2. Andrew Shepherd – Defender 90
3. Martin Willis – Kia Sorento
4. Neil Smith – Freelander 2
5. Dave Milne – Defender 90
6. Patrick Molloy – Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
7. James Dennison – Disco 2
8. Ian Gordon – Jeep Cherokee
9. Joe O’Shea – Defender 110
10. Arnold Nagy – Range Rover
11. Ed Poore – Range Rover or Defender 110
12.
Let me know if you would like to join us. We will meet at Tesco Brooklands at 08:00, but will probably be away from the site by 16:00.
Many thanks,
Andrew
