Thanks Angela,

If you feel they would be useful in that circumstance then I’m happy to support it.

My concern was more related to roadside use on major roads etc.

Best wishes

Mark

Very useful considerations and comments Mark J. You’ve obviously put a lot of thought into your response.

The only point that I might disagree with is your comment about the LED visors. When we had the discussion previously I thought that they would be a useful tool in terms of identifying our vehicles in bad weather and poor visibility to both the people we might be going to collect at unsocial hours and also to anyone who might mistake us for a numpty 4×4 driver…

I still think they are a useful tool. I know we have ID cards and signs but if you’re a lady or a vulnerable person a flashing LED light is more visible and therefore more comforting than some random stranger approaching you in the dark. We might expect people to wait in their homes – some may not and even if they do it’s reassuring to see who is coming before you answer the door. The lights would stand out as we’re driving down the street so people wold know that help was nearly there.

The exercise we did with SFRS in the old folks home and the deaf awareness training have made me think much more about how frail and confused people may be and I think these visors could help to reduce the distress that people may be feeling so I strongly support their inclusion in the list.
